FAQs

What is the Make a Difference Program all about?

It's about giving back! It's about reaching out and helping others who are less fortunate than we are and need our help. Our focus is on benefiting women and children and is designed to provide education, health care and clean water to help improve their lives and give them enhanced opportunity to live happy, fulfilling and productive lives. Part of every product purchase is allocated to this program directly. This program is a big part of Australianas' greater purpose.

Are the products made in the USA?

Yes. All our products are manufactured in the USA from USA and Australian ingredients.

What is Australiana Botanicals policy regarding natural ingredients?

See our Ingredients Policy page on this web site.

Does Australiana Botanicals product contain secondary ingredients?

No. We do not process our ingredients using secondary ingredients. We ask our suppliers to provide us with the official Certificate of Analysis and Safety Data Sheets for any ingredients that we source from them to ascertain purity.

What are secondary ingredients?

Secondary ingredients are ingredients or chemicals used by suppliers and manufacturers to fill, dilute, process or refine certain ingredients or "raw" materials. The FDA does not require manufacturers to disclose secondary ingredients. Therefore there may be undesirable ingredients in competitors products that are not disclosed on labels or ingredients lists.  Australiana Botanicals does not use secondary ingredients.

How does Australiana Botanicals compare to other brands?

Our products are what they say they are on the label. We do not use inferior ingredients. Our products perform to the highest standards of skin care products.

Where does Australiana source its ingredients?

The USA and Australia. Only high grade, as pure and as fresh as possible are used.

Are all ingredients organic?

Most of our ingredients are fully organic, however, there are a few botanicals that we wild harvest from the Australian wilderness which cannot formally be graded as organic.

What kind of CO-Q10 is used?

Undiluted pharmaceutical grade. This is the highest edible grade possible. The difference in performance is significant. Most, if not all, competitors use diluted cosmetic grade from China because it is cheaper. We do not!

Do you test your product on animals?

No. We have zero tolerance for animal cruelty. We test products on ourselves and our family. That's how confident we are of their safety.

Are your products FDA approved?
We manufacture within all applicable FDA guidelines in an approved facility.  The FDA regulates the cosmetic industry for bacterial safety and not necessarily the safety of ingredients. We are far above the industry standard in that regard.

Is your skincare for all skin types?

Our products are used successfully by women with many different skin types, climates and environments. Skin types can vary dramatically from person to person. We advise that if you have sensitive skin or specific skin disorders that you seek medical advice or perform a patch test. (There are instructions at the end of this section on how to perform a patch test).

Can I use while I'm pregnant?

Generally yes, as we do not use any harmful chemicals. However people can have individual allergies to certain plants. If you have any concerns you should consult your personal care physician and/or perform a patch test.

Can I use multiple products at once ?

Yes. Some of the products will enhance the effects of others.

How long will my product last?

That depends entirely on how you treat and store your product. Normally, under ideal conditions it will be good for 2 years at least.  Unsanitary handling, or storing your product in overly warm environments will shorten the shelf life of your product.

Why did your product make my skin pink?

Only the Blueberry Peel with turn your skin red temporarily. This is generally a normal reaction to some of the enzymes and active botanical ingredients in the product and is not harmful. This item is not recommended for sensitive skin.  If an abnormal reaction occurs discontinue use and rinse with water.

Do any of your products have sunscreen in them?

No. At this point we do not use sunscreens as they are typically a chemical based ingredient which we avoid.

I have very sensitive skin can I use all products ?

Every one’s skin is different so it is impossible to tell if yours might respond differently. If you have sensitive skin we recommend you perform a patch test according to the instructions on this site.

Do your products help with acne scars or uneven skin tones ?

Yes. Some of our products will help reduce the appearance of acne scarring, lighten skin tone and help it to be more even.

How To Perform a Patch Test

Choose a small, discreet, patch of skin on your body, such as behind an arm or behind an ear. Then apply a small amount of the product in question, according to the product directions, and rub it in. Allow it to dry. Do not wash that area for at least 24 hours and watch for signs of a reaction such as abnormal redness or irritation. If an adverse reaction occurs discontinue use. Please note that adverse reactions are the exception and are not common.
